Thomas Kachadurian

11 Years Teaching Experience

"High School in the Classroom" adjunct professor at HVCC.

Designed SAT preparation curriculum

9 Years SAT Prep Experience
I introduce the format and evolution of the exam, discuss the practical purposes, question format origins and what the test questions are geared to test students on.  I also introduce material that can, if studied, in a short amount of time build both vocabulary decoding skills and reading comprehension.

I then breakdown both the Critical Reading and Writing sections into 6 facets of composition: essay, identifying sentence errors, improving sentences, passage-based reading and sentence completions.  Approaches, logic and deductive reasoning are included within each section as well as a grammar tutorial refresher to aide in bolstering the writing section score.

I have attended multiple SAT seminars, maintain contacts with college prep consultants and update my curriculum yearly to keep current and effective techniques accessible for my students.
