FAQS

Individual & Small Group Tutoring

1. Where and when does the tutoring take place?
The tutoring typically takes place in a public place such as the local library.   It is up to you and the tutor to decide where and when you will meet.

2. How qualified are the tutors?

All of our tutors have gone through an extensive application process, an interview, and a background check.
They offer a wide variety of backgrounds including certified teachers, graduate students, doctoral students, and pre-medical students. Visit our Tutors section for more information.

3. How do I sign up for tutoring?
You can sign up for tutoring by filling out an Individual Tutoring Request Form and/or contacting Nancie at (518)861-8740.

4. How much does the tutoring cost?
Our tutoring rates range from $20 -$40 per hour session depending on how many hours you sign on for and whether you sign on for individual or small group tutoring. We also offer small group packages which offer significant rate reductions. Visit our Small Group Packages section to see these rates.

5. How do I pay for the tutoring?

All payment is due in full BEFORE your first tutoring session takes place. Once you decide how many hours you would like to sign on for, you will receive an invoice via email. (If you do not have an email address, we will mail you an invoice.) Checks should be made out to: D and T Tutoring Service, LLC and mailed to 124 Bozenkill Road, Altamont, NY 12009. You may also use a credit card or PayPal to pay for the tutoring. If you choose this option, you will receive an invoice via email through which you can process your payment.

6. What is your cancellation policy for the tutoring?
Cancellations need to be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled session. In any given week, if you need to change the day and time of a session, please speak with your tutor as soon as possible and he/she will try to rearrange their schedule. If a session is missed and a cancellation is not made in the proper time frame, the family will be responsible for payment for the scheduled block of time. This includes "forgetting" a session. No credits will be applied to future tutoring sessions.

7. What is your refund policy for the tutoring?

Any sessions paid for and not used will be credited towards future tutoring sessions if a cancellation was made in the appropriate time between both parties.
